Opening Presents with my Family

We were excited to finally spend some time with my sister Linda and her family yesterday.  They had been keeping their distance because Joshua & Caleb had colds.  Emily was very excited to spend the afternoon and evening with Caleb & Joshua.

Caleb & Joshua got Nintendo DS for Christmas so they were pretty busy with their new toys, Emily looked on and thought they were pretty cool!

She said "my turn next" but I don't think Joshua & Caleb heard her.
Here is Emily "reading" her new book to me which she had never seen before, so basically she just told me what was in the pictures seeing she doesn't have it memorized yet!
Emily opening up her new game.
Just as I thought, Linda LOVED her new Snuggie I got her, Jim teased me that I bought her one, but who knows her better?  Linda also liked her hand bag holder, but unfortunately the black pants from Ann Taylor were not a perfect fit!  Darn seeing I got a great deal!
Mom liked her Pampered Chef digital thermometer and Talbot's gift card!
Dad liked his instant Starbucks coffee, which he will need during tax season!
Jim liked his "wrinkle free" red shirt & tie!
And of course LOVED his new Smart Wool socks (these are the best if you don't have a pair yet)!
Jim hanging out with Joshua.
We opened our gifts during nap time, after we were done, Emily laid down in front of the tree with a pillow, I thought it was so cute!

Jim and I had to leave for a meeting, so Emily stayed to hang out with her cousins.  We were bummed to get a phone call that she woke up from a short nap with a 101.5 fever.  I am praying so hard that this morning she wakes up with no fever and we don't catch the bug she had yesterday.  I wore a mask and kept my distance which was incredibly hard.  Of course I had to hold her some and she kept asking me to take my mask off.  I just don't know if I can handle another bug with this pregnancy, I've already had 3, but it's bound to happen because I still have several months left and most of them are winter.  UGH.  We still had a good time at dinner last night, and surprisingly even with her fever Emily was still playing and making jokes when we got home.

FYI - Steve liked his Lowe's gift card too, unfortunately I didn't get a picture of him opening his gift.  Sorry Steve!

Weidmayer Christmas Party with SANTA

Our Christmas parties are winding down, last night we had our large Weidmayer Christmas party.  I'm not sure how many were there, but a lot, my dad usually tries to come home with an estimate, I'll have to ask him today what he thought.

Santa showed up to the party and he walked right up to Emily and said hi, and to my surprise she didn't get too scared and said hi to him!

Here is Emily getting her gift from Santa, she went up there all by herself!
This is Emily coming over to me with her gift from Santa, could her smile be any bigger?
Emily opened up her present from Santa ...
and loved it!  She got an Elmo sticker book and a My Little Pony magnet book, perfect for church!
Here is Steve, Mom and Jim hanging out right before we started playing bingo.  That was a lot of fun, but we didn't stay too late seeing we were tired from all of the parties and wanted to get Emily to bed a little bit closer to her normal schedule.  I think she was in bed about 20 to 10, but was still up at 10:15, I think we may have to cut out the naps and then she will be able to go to sleep better at night.  I just hate to give them up!

A Little Bit of Snow

It snowed a little bit yesterday, and Emily really wanted to go outside and play in the snow.  So Emily and I got bundled up and played outside at my parents house.  I can't wait for us to actually get some snow, this dusting stuff you really can't do anything with.  I think Emily was just happy to be outside running around, I was so tired from the Christmas parties, I wasn't very excited to go outside, but the fresh felt good.

Christmas Train

My parents set up a Christmas tree and train in their bedroom at Christmas time.  Emily wanted to show the train to Uncle Dave yesterday, here they are waiting for the tree to come ...
Uncle Dave is blowing the whistle on the train
They had a lot of fun with the train, in fact I am not sure who had more fun?

Helping Uncle Dave Open His Present

Emily has really enjoyed Uncle Dave, and yesterday we basically got up and ran over to my parents before I changed Emily out of her new PJ's from Santa.  Here is Emily helping Uncle Dave open one of his presents ...
Dave got this awesome plate from my cousin Marlene and his godson Dylan that says "Grilled to Perfection on David's Grill"  and he loved it!  Dave likes to grill out at his lake house and often has his friends over, so he will use this a lot.
After opening the gift Dave surprised Emily by dumping out the box of "popcorn" on her.  It was hilarious, and boy was she surprised.
This was Emily after the surprise.
Emily loved it so much we decided to do it again!
And again, can you see how excited and ready she is by the third time!

Of course Emily wanted to do it several more times, but we had to clean up so Uncle Dave could pack up his stuff.  Uncle Dave is a pretty fun guy!

Weidmayer Christmas Party

My parents hosted my dad's family Christmas party at their house last night. We have another HUGE Weidmayer party tonight which includes all of the cousins and is around 120 people. That is why it's nice to have a separate party with just my dad's 2 brothers, mom and their families.

I thought it was so cute that Emily went up to Great Grandma and was talking to her, she is such a big girl now.
Emily said she wanted to take a picture of "the girls" which included my cousin Bob too.  It turned out well, Bob is on the left, his wife Jackie in the middle and Bob's sister Patti is on the right.
Emily said, take a picture of me with Great Grandma, but then she got a little distracted.  :)
Emily did a great job helping Great Grandma open her presents.
Some of the presents took a little muscle, Emily said "Pull!"
My brother Dave, Jim, Aunt Karen, and my mom watching Grandma open her presents.
Emily LOVES this "BIG BALL" at my mom's house.
She cried when we said there were too many people to get it out, then finally we ended up getting it out anyway.  Grandparents always spoil their grandkids!

After everyone left Emily went from person to person and had them put on the princess crown and bracelet and read her this princess sticker book.  Of course Uncle Dave, Grandpa and Grandma were more than willing to participate.

What a fun party, but by the end of the night my pants were too tight, I will have to wear the maternity pants and retire the regular pants.  Now that I am over 18 weeks pregnant even with the button undone, they have become too tight in the waist.  We had a huge meal with turkey, stuffing, gravy, potatoes, green bean casserole, salads, rolls, etc and cookies galore!

Opening Presents Christmas Morning

My parents and brother came over for breakfast yesterday and then after breakfast we watched Emily open her presents.
Emily's favorite present was the princess night light.  She got some stuff for her new room which she will be moved into soon so she has some time to adjust before the new baby takes over her current room.
What, Santa brought me a toothbrush in my stocking?
Opening her new princess night light (Tinkerbell).
A sweater?

Playing with her new basketball hoop from Santa (I found it at a mom 2 mom sale for $5).

We had a great time watching Emily open her presents and get excited.  It's funny how her favorite things were her Tinkerbell night light and clock radio.  I thought for sure she was going to get really excited over the basketball  hoop which she did like.

It's so fun having children, this has been my favorite Christmas, and I am sure next year will be even more fun with 2 kids!

Christmas Eve

Emily and Uncle Dave, she really likes her Uncle Dave and said yesterday after taking her vitamins that she is going to have big muscles like Uncle Dave!
Emily opening her present from Uncle Dave, Diego Wii game and Kai-lan Magic Ink book.
Cuddling with Grandma after church (waiting to be dismissed).
Emily wanted a picture with "Pa pa" after church, so of course dad did it!
Emily, Jim & I
Grandpa and Emily cuddling watching Christmas show after church.

Christmas Eve has always been special to me, getting dressed up for church, and watching the children's program.  Last night we went over to my parents for dinner before church, and Emily even had time to open her present from Uncle Dave before church.  Emily was very good at church and enjoyed her new Kai-lan magic ink book from Uncle Dave.  After church we hung out at my parents house for a while, Emily had a long nap so I wasn't too worried about her staying up late.  If she takes a nap these days we have trouble with her going to bed before 11pm sometimes!  Of course last night when talking about Santa coming, Emily had trouble going to sleep, she was in bed not long after 10pm, but it was at least 11pm before she started to wind down and go to bed.  Jim went in to talk to her and she wanted to hear about Santa and kept telling him "Tell me again!"  I can't wait until she gets up this morning, my parents and brother are coming for breakfast and then Emily will open her gifts.

Christmas Dinner at Travis Pointe

Emily is waiting for her dinner at Travis Pointe, with her new baby doll from Aunt Sarah.
Yum dessert!
Emily and I in front of the Christmas tree.
Jim and Emily, watching the Choir from Saline sing Christmas songs.

We went to this amazing Christmas dinner last night at Travis Pointe with my parents.  Emily was very sweet, when we first got there my mom ran into a older friend in a wheel chair.  My mom introduced Emily and Emily told her Merry Christmas.  The friend asked Emily how old she was and she said two, she actually had a conversation with a stranger, I was so proud.  Most of the time Emily is real shy and doesn't say anything to strangers.  I think part of the reason she felt more comfortable was the lady was real sweet and soft spoken and was more at Emily's level seeing she was in a wheel chair, Emily stood right next to her wheel chair talking with her. My mom commented on how sweet Emily was talking to her friend too.

Emily ate a lot for dinner, and most of the time sat in the big chair and was an angel.  A few times she stood up in her chair or wanted to get down, but she is only 2.5 and had to sit a long time after she was done waiting for us to finish.

Emily loved the Saline Choir that sang Christmas songs in lobby, so we kept going out there to hear a few songs.  Emily sang along, danced and even wanted to go up there for "her turn!"  She kept telling me to have the people move so she could go up and sing!  I am sure if she got up there she would have stage fright and not sing at all.  After every song Emily would lean and whisper to me, "Another song!"  We stayed and listened for quite a while, I couldn't believe when we got into the car it was 10 to 8!

My only compliant is I so wanted a picture of the 3 of us last night with our red on, maybe at the next Christmas party!
