Manchester Parade 2009

For a small town, Manchester sure has a great parade that kicks off fair week.

Jim went to work early yesterday and got home just in time to join us for dinner at The Hungry Wolf in Manchester with my parents and grandma and then off to the parade.  We met our friends Tom, Abbe and Hunter at the parade and had a great time.  The first pictures are of Emily and Hunter waiting for the parade to begin.

It took Emily a little while to warm up, but once she did she got the wave down and was a real champ picking up candy and putting it in her bag.  Sometimes she sucked her thumb and picked up candy with just her right hand, sometimes she could get 4 pieces of candy in her right hand and one time.  She wasn't going to stop sucking her thumb to pick up candy with two hands.  Emily has gotten really attached to sucking her thumb, I am not sure how we will break the habit.

Grandma walked in the parade with their VBS float, and she brought Emily her favorite, a blue sucker!

I think the above picture of Emily checking out her candy in her bag is so adorable!  All the way home she asked to have candy, we didn't give her any candy until one piece when we got home last night.  We try to limit candy and sweets and just feed Emily real foods, it's hard to limit all of the processed, packaged foods!  Good thing we have a garden.
