Adrian College Homecoming

Doesn't Emily look so cute as a Bulldog fan!  Jim went and got this paw print painted on Emily's face yesterday when I was chatting with a few of my friends from college. Emily was so good about it, she did not touch it the entire day/evening until I washed it off last night.

Here is a picture of Jim and Emily waiting for the parade. They had bands, sports teams, sororities, and lots of fun things represented in the parade.

Emily enjoyed being a football player in the picture, she loved going into the game and watching football!

They even had a petting zoo for Homecoming, and of course Emily loves animals!

We got to Adrian a little after 3pm, just in time for the parade, and then we enjoyed the petting zoo, bookstore, dinner, walking around campus and the football game.  We only watched a little bit of the game because Emily was getting tired.  Emily was a real trooper running around campus and was very good at the game.

Running Up & Down the Hill

It's amazing the little things that entertain a 2 year old and us parents too!  We had a last minute dinner with our friends the Cabble's.  I called to see if they wanted to go out to dinner and they invited us over for Beef Tenderloin.  That was a real treat.

After dinner Blake and Emily enjoyed running up and down their hill in their yard, squealing, and rolling around in the grass.  It was only 7:30pm but it sure does look dark in these pictures.  I think the dads had just about as much fun running up and down the hill too.  Megan enjoyed watching Emily and Blake be silly, here is a picture of her with Jim.  And with no nap yesterday, Emily sure was tired when we got home last night.  I'm praying that today she naps, she needs lots of energy for the events at Adrian College Homecoming today!

Big Leaf & Stickers

Thursday we went to storytime at the library and Emily made this big leaf.  I was so impressed that she could rip all of the strips of paper into squares and then she glued them on with a glue stick.  It's amazing how quickly kids learn how to do things.

In the afternoon mom watched Emily when I went to my hair appointment.  They took a nap, of course she sleeps when I am not home!  Grandma brought stickers which Emily put every one of the stickers on her shirt after grandma left.  That kept Emily busy for a little bit.  I had to take a picture of Emily with all of her stickers.  Then Emily wanted me in the picture, so there is a picture of us together per Emily's request.

A little funny story, we went for a walk after the stickers and stopped to see the neighbors horses and cats next door.  Emily held the kitties like she always does and then we ran into a few neighbors on our way home including meeting our neighbors new puppy Lola who is 3 months old.  Anyway that evening I get a call from our next door neighbor, did Emily put a sticker on one of the cats?  I laughed, one of their cats had an orange smiley face sticker on it when she got home.  She thought her son who is in High School put the sticker on the cat and blamed him, which made me laugh even harder!  I confessed it was probably Emily.

Picking up Apples, I mean Kitties

On Sunday we went to Lesser's Farm to pick up some apples, cider, soap, honey, etc at their store in Dexter.  Emily was much more excited about the cats they had and carried them all around the farm.  We also checked out the chickens and pigs when we were there, and Emily enjoyed eating a fresh apple that we bought.  I am excited to make apple sauce, some apple crisp and maybe I'll even tackle a apple pie.  We'll see how Emily naps the next couple of days.

It's been hard to post pictures on the blog because Emily hasn't been napping much and every second I can I am trying to squeeze in work for teaching at Adrian College or help my brother with his Sun Towels business.  I sure hope Emily doesn't give up naps yet, she is not even 2.5!

I had to share the last picture of my dad with Norm Lesser, it looks like the older farmer is giving advice to the younger farmer (farmer at heart heart - seeing my parents don't farm anymore, but do live on the centennial Weber family farm).

Dinner at Travis Pointe

Emily looks just like; I can't believe looking at this picture how different we look!  She looks and acts like her daddy, she likes to joke around, is stubborn and gets into mischief!

Emily was so funny at dinner at Travis Pointe on Saturday night. She ate her meal great, which is rare when we aren't at home and so we said they could bring the ice cream that came with her meal.

Emily enjoyed the ice cream sitting on my dad's lap and hamming it up for the camera. Of course she got cookies n' cream ice cream with hot fudge and the waitress added sprinkles too! Can you tell how excited she was in these pictures!

Caleb's Soccer Game

We surprised Caleb and went to his soccer game last Saturday. My parents and brother Dave came and picked up Emily an I a little after 7am!  So I had to wake up Emily for the big game.

Emily loves soccer, of course she wanted to go play too, so standing on the side was a little bit challenging at times.

Here is Emily and Joshua cheering for Caleb, Emily was saying "Go Caleb Go!"

Caleb and Emily kicked the ball around near the end of the game when he sat out for a few minutes. Even though he was tired, he still had time to play with his little cousin Emily.

After lunch at Linda's, the kids played outside on the swing set. Emily kept wanting to "catch" the boys when they came down the slide. Of course the last time Joshua came don't a little to quick and knocked her over, and that was the end of that game.

We had a great day, and of course I wished we live closer when we left to drive home.

Storytime (Baby Time Plus ages 1.5 -3)

Wow, there were 22 kids at Babytime plus yesterday at the library.  Emily had a great time singing songs, learning about the letter N, putting numbers on the felt board and learning her colors.  Of course at the end when they brought out toys for open play she got the drum first and was banging away as you see in the top picture.  And we can't forget that we read some great books too.
