Merry Christmas!

On April 5th we welcomed Amy Jane to our family.  Amy is the happiest baby, very vocal and scoots around the house.  She loves to wave and clap her hands.  Amy has been such a blessing to our family!

Mary is three and a half and goes to the Chelsea Co-op preschool two mornings a week.  She loves being a big sister and helping with Amy.  Mary was the flower girl in my brother’s wedding December 14th and danced until 11 pm at the reception.  She loves glitter, tape, playing dress up and teaching school to her baby dolls.  Mary sings “Born to be Wild” while riding with grandma Weidmayer on her gator around my parent’s 120-acre farm.

Emily is in first grade and has Mrs. Ingall for a teacher.  Her favorite subject is math and she also loves gym, music and going to the library.  Emily was a greeter and handed out programs at my brother’s wedding.  When she is home she loves to build forts with Mary, ride her bike and play outside.  A favorite tradition for Emily is making Christmas cookies with grandma Jane and Aunt Lin.

This fall I cut back to teaching one class at Adrian College so I would have more time with the girls.  I was approached about a new opportunity and decided to take it!  I will start as an Institutional Research Officer at Adrian College in January.  I feel very fortunate that I will go to campus one day a week for meetings and then work the rest of my 20 hours from home.  We have two lovely neighbors that will help watch the girls when I am working.

Jim is enjoying his program manager position at Consumers Energy.  He often travels to Muskegon and Grand Rapids for his energy efficiency programs.  Jim just bought a smoker and is having fun smoking various meats and food.  This summer he ripped out the carpet in our master bath and has put a beautiful design of slate flooring in.  Plus while he was at it he built a large custom shower with slate, pebble stones and two showerheads.  It sure is nice having a handy husband because there is always something to fix in our home, on our cars or his tractor.

We still enjoy gardening and the outdoors. Lucy enjoys her daily walks to the bus stop and playing with the girls.

Merry Christmas,
Jim, Beth, Emily, Mary, Amy & Lucy (yellow lab)
