Fancy Nancy B-day Party

Emily and I went to the most adorable Fancy Nancy Birthday party today.  It was for Claire who is my cousin's daughter, we go to church with them and they are in our bible study group too, so we have been close, it's so nice.

At the party Emily decorated a tiara and wand with stickers, gathered treats from a pinata, listened to a Fancy Nancy story time, enjoyed snacks and of course cake and ice cream.  Also, she liked to play with Claire's baby dolls and toys.

One of these pictures is at home, I got a cute one of Emily with her tiara on, of course she has already peeled off the stickers, so it's not as fancy as it was.

Emily skipped her nap and seems to be doing well, we are praying for a good night sleep tonight, maybe she'll go to bed early.  :)

Treehouse Fun with Josie

Last night we met friends at the Treehouse in Chelsea.  Josie is about a month older than Emily, and her hair is like Emily's but a little longer and brown.  They had a great time and Emily slept great last night so we might have to go more often.  Emily always wants to play on these rings but they are too high so I have to lift her up to reach them.

New Hair Cut

I have been contemplating if I should cut Emily's hair and if she should have bangs or not?  We'll I finally decided I was sick of putting her hair back every day for her to take it out and sick of looking at her hair in her eyes.  SO, we got bangs!   I love that I can see her big beautiful eyes better.

She was a little angel getting her hair cut, she wasn't so sure at the beginning, but with sitting on my lap and a few snacks she was great!  Her favorite part was getting a sucker, it was her FIRST one!  Once she figured it out, I couldn't get it out of her mouth, she didn't take it out once until it was gone.  Then she wanted more, maybe with our next visit!

Does my little girl look so big in these pictures?  She is 21 months old already!  Last picture is at lunch, with her saying cheese for the camera.

Bath Time

It's been a VERY long week.  Emily had the stomach flu for 8 days!  Today she is finally acting normal and I am so relieved.  Although she has definitely lost some weight, so we'll have to work on getting her baby fat back.  She has hardly ate this week and it was very stressful.

Here she is enjoying a bath in our big tub with the jets on!  :)

Grandma & I

Today we had a baby shower for my cousin Melanie.  I got a picture with my grandma and I thought I would share it, I can't remember the last photo I have with her and I together.  I am usually taking pictures of grandma with Emily.  Doesn't grandma look great for being 88!

Urban Toddler

There are so many fun kids places to enjoy these days.  Emily just loves to explore new things, and she is just so curious.  We met up with some of my friends from HS and a bonus was I ran into someone I used to work with and her daughter who is only 2 months younger than Emily.

She is talking a lot more, last night Jim said "See you in the morning" before she went to bed and Emily said "See ya!"  She says Amen when we finish praying, and now she likes to talk on the phone.  Emily says Hi, How are you, Hello, and my favorite, I love you!  She says a lot of other words, too, but that is what she usually says on the phone.

Emily cracking herself up

Sunday we went to the Common Grill after church for brunch.  While we were at the table waiting for our food, Emily was making herself crack up with this toy snail.  It was adorable.

Red Wings Game

Saturday a group of us went to the Red Wings game.  We had a great time, Linda and I even made it on the jumbotron (sp?).   I think the ticket was the big foam hands my brother bought us.  :)

Emily is so Smart

I am not sure if it's I'm a first time mom, or if I have an incredibility bright 20 month old.  We've been busy having lots of fun lately so I have posted a lot, but I had to share from today's outing.  We went to the Treehouse in Chelsea and met a few friends there.

Now I have to tell you why Emily is so smart, when we were at the Treehouse I was half paying attention to Emily and talking with my friends.  I noticed that Emily was talking to herself at the top of the slide.  When I got home and looked at these pictures I realized what she was saying, "One Two Three Go" which is what we say at the top of a slide.  Then she says "Wee" when she goes down, it's so cute.  These pictures are from the little toddler area, I couldn't get pictures of her going down the big slide because I was by her side going down a slide too.  She still needs a little help climbing to the top of the Treehouse.

After you have kids, you get to be a kid again, I had fun going down the slide today too!  :)

Daddy Time at Jungle Java

When Jim got home last night he wanted to take Emily some place and do something.  In just the last couple of weeks we have started taking Emily to the Treehouse which is an indoor play structure and one night Jim took Emily to Jungle Java.  We have been amazed at how much she can do, and she doesn't seem scared of anything, even going down the big slides by herself!

Here are a few pictures of their adventure at Jungle Java (Treehouse was closed).

I stayed home and baked Carrot Cake Muffins, I got the recipe from Deceptively Delicious, hopefully Emily will eat them.   They have only 1/4 cup of sugar and have carrot and cauliflower puree plus chopped up prunes and apricots.  I can not remember being home alone since I had Emily, it was a nice break and I got lots done, but I also wished I could see her running around at Jungle Java.

Library Baby Time

Yesterday we enjoyed going to story time at the Chelsea library.  It was full with lots of children to play with.  Emily joined singing the songs and then playing with all of the kids.  We are working on sharing, you'll see in the pictures she stole a ball from another little boy and wouldn't give it back.  Opps.

Fun Outside

Yeah, today we made it outside and enjoyed some fresh air!  We took Emily on a ride on the sled over to the neighbors so she could see the horses.  Every time we go outside, that is what she wants to do, is go see the "Neigh Neighs."  The first picture is of Emily getting her boots and hat on herself, she wants to do everything herself including dress herself.

Family Time

Linda and Steve and the boys are in town for the weekend, so yesterday we spent the day at my parents house hanging out.  The kids had a great time playing together, and we all enjoyed playing the Wii.  Jim thinks we need to get one, but I am trying to hold him off as long as possible before we make the purchase.  I enjoy the Wii fitness, yesterday my age was 37, I am getting closer to my real age, but seeing I have only played it a couple of times, I am not very good.

AC Hockey Game

Go Dawgs!  Friday night we cheered the Adrian College Hockey team on to their 17th straight win!  They played the number two team in the league Marian and won 3-1.  Our tickets were in the Executive Suite next to President Docking (College President).  My parents purchased the tickets at a Salvation Army event a couple of months ago.  President Docking was very nice, we chatted with him most of the 3rd period, basically after I got up the courage to introduce myself.

AC didn't have a hockey team when I went there, a lot has changed in the last decade.  It was fun to cheer on some of my students that play on the team as well.

Here are a couple of pictures from the game.
