Mary's Baptism

Last Sunday on June 13th we had Mary's baptism.  It was such a special day, we had her baptism at Peace Lutheran Church at 10am, and many family members and friends joined us for her special day.

This is Mary after we got her gown on before the church service started.

Mary's God Parents are my brother Dave as the God Father and my cousin Diane as the God Mother.

We were blessed with so many people coming to the baptism and to our house afterward for brunch.  The people that came were my sister Linda and her family, my brother Dave and his girlfriend Heather, my parents, Jim's mom Jane, my cousin Diane DeVoogd and her family, my cousin Janet Marion & her dad Uncle Marvin (for the church service), my cousin Amy Riley and her family, my God Parents Uncle Eldean & Aunt Carolyn Weidmayer, my Aunt Joyce Braun, my friend Angela Martin, our next door neighbors the Sullivans.  What a special celebration.

Family Time

Last weekend we had Mary's baptism and enjoyed some time with our family.  My brother Dave and his girlfriend Heather came for the weekend and Linda, Steve and the boys were in town too.

We had lots of fun just spending time together and enjoying each other company.

Mary Sleeping

While Emily and Jim were outside doing the racing game, Mary took a little nap.  I thought I would share some exciting video of her too.

Mary sleeping, not a care in the world.  The way she is sleeping reminds me of Emily.
Here is Emily kissing Mary good night.

Running Game

Jim and Emily play this running game, basically they have little races.  I think Emily is pretty fast for a three year old; heck she can beat her 35 year old daddy!

Chelsea Library Summer Kick Off 2010

Today I took the girls to the library summer reading program kick-off.  I put Mary in the front carrier and the day went surprisingly well.

First we stood in line and both girls got a free blow up fish and signed up for the program.  Then we did six different events (standing in line for each event) and when we had our card filled up and earned our snow cone it started to rain!  So instead of Emily getting to eat her snow cone, we went inside the library.  We used the bathroom, changed Mary's diaper and then we found a quiet room where I could nurse Mary and Emily could play.  Just as we were about to leave they said the animal show was starting.  So then we went to the animal show which was about frogs, turtles, etc.  We stayed for about 30 minutes and then I decided we should head home.  Both Emily and Mary were both very good; but I was tired.  Getting both girls ready and out the door and carrying Mary in the baby carrier can be draining

Clothes Line

I never thought that I would want a clothes line, but I do!  I asked Jim to put up a clothes line for me, so he built this one for me.  This week I washed our cloth diapers and sheets and hung them up outside on the line to dry.  I was happy that my allergies did not act up, and I pray that we can enjoy fresh sheets from the line on a weekly basis.

Emily was a great helper too, she would hand me the diapers and clothes pins.  It was a fun chore to do together in the warm morning sun with the birds chirping.

Sisters Snuggling together

Emily wanted to hold Mary while she was sleeping.  So they laid together on the couch for a while until Emily's arm got tired (the one under Mary).  It was quite precious, and Emily is very gentle with Mary.
