Hayride at the beautiful Weidmayer (my parents) Farm

Sunday afternoon we went on a hayride at my parents house, it was their church fall get together.  The weather turned out great, it was 58 degrees and partially sunny.  We had overdressed a little bit with our long underwear, but I wasn't cold that's for sure.

Our friends Erik & Julie and their kids Blake and Megan joined us.  Blake and Emily were so cute walking around holding hands.  Emily seems to instigate most of the time, and always runs up and grabs Blake's hand, then she tries to lead him where she wants to go.  Sometimes she even bosses him around a little and he will say no if he isn't interested, but most of the time he says "Ok Emily."

Yesterday Emily had a well child check up at the doctor, she is just over 28 pounds (50% for weight) and almost 38 inches tall (95% for height).  The doctor said she looks great and is growing a lot, she asked if we have tall people in our family over 6 feet as well.  I don't but some of Jim's cousin's are like 6'6" and 6'8", Jim is only 6'1" which is perfect.  I hope Emily continues to be tall, I always wanted to be taller.  We have also weaned Emily off one of her reflux medications, and we are going to try and wean her off her Prevacid next, I sure hope we can be medicine free soon!  Emily will be 2.5 in about a month, wow how time flies.

Princesses Emily & Sydney

Yesterday we went over to my friend Anne's house.  Emily loved dressing up in the Dora dress and playing Sydney's guitar.  Sydney turned 3 last month so she is a little bit older than Emily, and was so cute showing Emily her toys.  When it was time to leave they were hiding out in Sydney's princess tent and Emily did not want to go home.  It was such a nice relaxing morning, Anne made lunch and we just sat and chatted while the girls played.  It's nice that Emily will play and not demand my assistance or attention as much.  I can now enjoy girl talk with my friends.

Blake's Actual Birthday October 21st

Wednesday we had a great day celebrating the nice fall day and Blake's 3rd Birthday.   We started by going to our weekly Music Together class at the Center of the Arts.  Emily loves music class, her favorite time is when they get to play musical instruments, and Emily always chooses the drum.  Here is Emily and Blake playing their drums during class.  Emily also enjoyed Miss Tara playing the violin and guitar this week.  Miss Tara has played several different instruments, I look forward to the week she brings her cello seeing I used to play and I know that Miss Tara's main instrument she plays in the cello.

After music class we went to Three Cedar Farms and had a fun day with lunch and a hay ride.  Jaimie, Josie and Ruby, Erik, Julie, Blake and Megan all went to the farm.  We decided it would be fun if my parents did something like this with their farm, maybe when my dad retires they can start doing hay rides and fun events for the public. They had little tractors, big tractors, slides, trains, goats and so many fun things to do.  Emily's favorite was the hay ride, which she says was very bouncy!

Beautiful Fall Day - October 20th

A couple of days ago Emily and I went for a long walk and spent the afternoon outside.  It was 62 degrees and beautiful.  Luckily right when we were getting to the end of our driveway our neighbor Anne was taking her 4 month old puppy for a walk so we walked together for a mile or 2.  It was nice having someone to chat with.  Anne has daughters close to my age who have children so we talked kids and neighborhood happenings, etc.

These pictures are kinda funny, Emily  had to take all these things on our walk, she had a softball in her glove and Lucy came and took it out of her glove.  Emily was so shocked and made at Lucy, I am not sure if you can tell in this picture what happened.

I can reach the rings!

Tuesday we met a friend at the Treehouse in Chelsea.  It's a wonderful place, but we hadn't been in months.  I was amazed that in the few months since we been there, now Emily can reach the rings ALL BY HERSELF!  She was so proud of herself.  Plus Emily climbs up to the top by herself and goes down the slides by herself too.  What a big girl.  I had a great time relaxing, sitting and talking with my friend while Emily played with Addison is who is a couple months older than Emily.  We had snacks, and lunch there and ended up staying almost 3 hours.  Emily took a great nap that day after all of the climbing and running around, yeah!

Fun with Luke

Our friends Carrie and Brian had a baby girl (Ava) a few weeks ago, so on Sunday Emily and I took them a meal.  Unfortunately Jim was busy and couldn't come with us.  Emily had a blast playing with their son Luke who is about 2.5 months younger than Emily.  Luke has this silly Elmo that burps and makes silly noises, Emily was cracking up at him.  I got home and couldn't believe I didn't get one picture of Ava, I was so bummed out.   Hopefully I will get to see sweet Ava again soon.

Fall Festival at Salem

Last Sunday we went to Salem's Fall Festival.  Emily loved the moon bounce and part of the time she was the only kid in it and she just jumped and jumped and jumped.  I was happy because she took a great nap that afternoon too.  Here is Emily jumping, unfortunately I didn't get a good picture of her looking at the camera.

Emily's Hair Cut

I am not sure why Emily looks grumpy in all of these pictures because she actually loves to get her hair cut.  She gets two suckers when she is done and she sits so still, and is a perfect angel.  They always love to see Emily come into Studio 113.

Blake's Birthday

This week was Emily's best friend Blake's 3rd Birthday.  He actually had his party almost 2 weeks ago, but as you know I am behind in updating the blog.  These are a few pictures of his party.  Emily had a great time and especially loved his Cookie Monster cake with the cookies on it.

My little angel

Today I was not excited to get up when it was 29 degrees out, but I was excited that now it's cold enough for Emily to wear her new coat from her grandma.  Jim's mom got this coat for Emily like a year and a half ago on sale at a cute boutique in Midland.  Emily is finally big enough for it, and she looked like a little angel in her new coat at church today!  Emily loves the new coat too!

4 Generations

This was the week of catching up with family, which I love. Yesterday Jim's mom and grandma came over for a visit. So we have 4 generations in this picture, Emily, Jim, Jim's mom Jane and Jane's mother Francis Feher (who is 83).

Here is Emily with her grandma, I think they have the same hair!
Grandma brought Emily a few new dresses, which Emily loved opening them up, and when she was done she took off her clothes and had to try them on!

I think this one was Emily's favorite, it has matching bloomers, so cute!
Then Emily helped me open my Birthday presents, which included a new portable CD player, just what I wanted!  Now we can listen to our CD's in any room in the house.

We had a great visit, lunch, hanging around the house, Emily showed her grandmas her new dance moves and her lovely singing, then we went to downtown Chelsea to the Garden Mill, Jim's mom is a master gardener, so this was her kind of store!

3 Generations - Heiss Family

This week we haven't done as much as we normally would because Emily and I both had a cold, actually Jim came down with it too, so we layed low this week.

On Thursday night Jim's dad came for dinner which was a nice treat because we don't get to see him as much as we would like.  Emily was ticking him in a few of the pictures, but he wasn't ticklish.  Emily had a good time with "pa pa" and talked non-stop, he even commented on how talkative she is these days.  I love my little chatter box, although when we go places she is a little shy, so not everyone gets to hear her talk non-stop.

Go Blue!

Tomorrow is the big Michigan vs Michigan State game, so today Emily and I sported our Maze & Blue when we went to the library.  I was so excited to put Emily in this outfit I bought 2 years ago at a Mom 2 Mom sale.  I waited until it would fit, and now today I put it on her, and it's pretty much too small.  The shirt is VERY short on Emily.  The first picture is of Emily saying "Go Blue" and hailing the wolverines!  The second picture is just so sweet and the last one Emily is at the library playing during story time.

I must have football on my mind, last night I dreamt I was playing football and scored a touch down!  They counted 9 points for my touch down too!

Emily & Her Best Friend

I would hope Emily would say I am her best friend, but she may say it's daddy, Blake or Lucy our yellow lab.  It's interesting how lately Emily doesn't want me to take her picture by  herself, she always wants me in the picture.  It makes it harder for me to get cute pictures of Emily doing things with her wanting me in the pictures.  Or she wants to take my picture with the camera, so sometimes we take turns, but don't worry I am not going to post the pictures she takes of me, although some are amusing.

Butterfly Wing

Seeing it's been cooler Emily has enjoyed snuggling up under her butterfly quilt her Aunt Susan made for her last year.  She asks us to "cover me up with butterfly wing!"  It's so cute to seeing her nap in this picture and to see her under blankets instead of kicking them off.  Yes, she has to have several babies and stuffed animals in bed with her when she sleeps.  Right now she has a little lamb and a baby she carries around the most.  We have to take it everywhere, including music class, and half of the time I end up holding it, if I put them in my purse she gets upset.  I think we will soon be thinking about moving her to a bigger bed, but I think she still loves her cosy toddler bed.  Doesn't she look like a little angel here?  Right now I wish I could say the same thing, but she is in her room playing and not napping.  Emily has been only napping about 50% of the time, and she is way to young to give up her naps!

Family Fun

We went to my parents on Sunday afternoon and enjoyed pretty much the last nice sunny 70 degree day.  Emily loves to run around the farm and go out to the pond to feed the fish.  She was so funny, she kept telling "pa pa" and "grandma" to "run with me!"  And of course they did, when she wasn't looking they might walk a few steps like my dad was here.

Yesterday we are driving in the car and we were talking about the sun, it was a cloudy morning and the sun was behind the clouds.  Emily said "Sun didn't come out today?  Must be still sleeping."  It's fun to see her put thoughts together and have conversation now.  I can't remember if I have already posted this, but one of the things she does now is ask "What are you doing?" several times a day.  I am just thinking the next question will be "why?" I haven't gotten that question yet!
