The Urban Toddler

Wednesday we went to the Urban Toddler in Saline for a play date with our friends.  I also wanted to buy a nursing top to wear to Mary's baptism this Sunday.  I had been eyeing a top but hadn't bought it because it was more than what I wanted to spend.  Well sure enough they sold out of the top all except for a size small.  I tried it on, but it was just too snug to be comfortable.  I tried on two other tops but did not find anything, darn!

Emily had a great time playing with Luke and Jada and when we left to go to the library today she said, "I hope Jada is there!"

Jada do you think I can drive next?

Kale from our Garden

Last night when I was washing the Kale for dinner I was thinking how colorful it is.  It's a beautiful garden veggie, so nice I had to take a picture.  I think it just screams vitamins!  I made yummy Kale chips which we all enjoyed, the only bummer was I burned my finger making them.  Ugh!  And last night was the first night I made a real hot dinner since I had Mary, we've been blessed with so many meals and on the days we didn't have a meal brought we had a fresh salad from our garden.

Daddy Daughter Time

Jim took two weeks off work when I had Mary and he got a ton of projects done.  I have a new clothes line up, he fixed the swing set, mowed the lawn, fixed his car, cleaned, did laundry, and helped with the kids just to name a few things.  To add to all of that he spent several days working on his dad's estate in Flint too.

So when Jim finally gets to hold Mary he is typically exhausted, and they tend to cuddle up and take a little nap.  Here are a few of the napping pictures.  Don't they look so sweet.

The Sinkwitts

Yesterday my friend from MOPS brought a meal over for us.  Her kids played with Emily outside on the swing set, they had a great time.  I wish I would have taken some pictures of them playing together, but with Mary it's harder to get pictures in.

Here is a picture of Mary, Nolan, Addison and Emily right before they left.  Addison is a little older then Emily and Nolan is 6.

Great Grandma Weidmayer meets Mary

Yesterday my grandma came to meet Mary.  It was a nice visit, and Mary was actually wake for most of it.  Mary has been a great sleeper and rarely cries, we've been blessed.  I hope things don't change, she seems so laid back and content, a much different baby then her older sister Emily.  Of course I love both of their personalities.

The Dieffenbaughers

When Emily has playmates over, things are just easier.  Because she is the oldest she has always gotten a lot of attention, and now with Mary here she doesn't get as much attention, so the best thing lately is having friends over.

On Sunday afternoon our friends Kelly, Tim, Luke and Jada came over to meet Mary.  They brought a wonderful meal, lots of presents and the best part was the kids playing together so nicely.  Luke will be 5 in August and Jada just turned 2.  It's wonderful to have so many great friends.

Emily's First Time on a Horse

Today we went next door for our neighbor's graduation party from High School.  Jim is gone up to Flint so I put Mary in the carrier and Emily and walked next door for the party.  Seeing we are on 10 acres, and our neighbor has 10 acres, plus there is an empty 10 acre lot in between us, it was a pretty good walk.

The Sullivan's have horses, and after lunch they got out one of the horses for the kids to ride.  Mary was hungry so we went inside to nurse Mary; Emily watched out the window as the other little kids rode the horse around the yard.  Emily was so excited to be on a horse for the first time and wasn't scared at all.  Basically Scott lifted her up there and she held on tight as Sunshine walked around the back yard.  At times it was a pretty fast walk or Sunshine sped up suddenly, with the ride a little jerky, but Emily hung on tight and loved every minute of it.  In fact she didn't want to get off, and Scott finally said they were cutting the cake which convinced her it was time to get off the horse.

This is going to be so much fun ...
