Playing with Owen

We went to visit my friend from HS Colleen and her son Owen yesterday.  It was kinda an odd play date because Emily was so clingy to me, she takes a long time to warm up, and by the time she does, it's usually time to leave.   Owen was very good sharing his toys and playing with Emily, he kept telling Emily what they will do next, he is quite the little talker.  We had a great time!

Great Grandma Weidmayer & Cousin Lauren

Here is Emily visiting Great Grandma Weidmayer.  We went over to take her some lettuce out of our garden and we had a pleasant surprise, our cousin Lauren was there, so Emily got to play with her.  Lauren read Emily a book, and it was so cute how Emily helped Lauren hold the book, while sucking her thumb of course.  Lauren (Riley) was so cute with Emily, I am sure Lauren is a very good big sister to her brother Liam.

We were on our way to visit our friends Colleen & Owen so we couldn't stay too long.  I had to tell Emily the cows were sleeping because we didn't have time to go see the steers.  Emily kept saying "go see the cows!"  When we got to Colleen & Owen's house, the first thing she told Owen was "the cows were sleeping!"

Peace Play Group at Timbertown

We had another excuse to go to Timbertown today, YEAH!  Not that we need excuses to go to our favorite park, but the church play group was headed to Timbertown, so of course we took the opportunity to go.   Emily had a lot of fun, and didn't want to sit down for the wonderful picnic lunch I brought, but she ate well when we got home, so I can't complain.  Plus she is two, how many two year olds pick eating over playing?  My cousin Diane's daughter Claire went with us, and we saw a lot of our friends there, pictured above is Matthew Biggs, and in the swing is Blake.

A hat & gloves?

When we were getting ready for Emily's nap today, she was in her closet pulling out hats and gloves I had packed away from the winter.  For some odd reason she decided that she wanted to wear her hat and gloves for her nap?  I had to go wake her up seeing she was sleeping past 4pm and she had taken off one glove so she could suck her thumb, but she was still wearing the other glove and hat!  That silly girl, of course when she woke up she wanted them off.

Twin Friends - Sofia & Natalia

Natalia and Sofia came over today, they are twin friends we met at the Chelsea library.  Their mom Karla is super sweet and worked in Marketing before she had the girls so we have a lot in common.  Natalia and Sofia are a couple of months older than Emily, and they just had a blast playing with Emily.  We spent most of our time inside because it was wet out, but we made it out for about an hour when the rain dried up.

Timbertown Again!

We've been to Timbertown a lot lately, but we decided to go for a short while this weekend, and I had to share these cute pictures from Saturday.

Opinions

At dinner last night Jim and I were talking about going for a walk down to the neighbors to see their garden, and Emily piped in with her opinion on it.  Emily said she wanted to ride in the backpack on Jim's back.  I never would have guessed that, we haven't used the backpack in months and usually she wants to walk everywhere, sometimes she is good in the stroller for a little while, but the backpack?  Ok, so Jim carried her in the backpack on our walk, who can refuse a request that honestly is easier for us.  Most of the walk she enjoyed riding on Jim's back, even playing with his hair and putting her hat on his head, but at the end she was ready to get out and walk.
