Helping Daddy with his Project

This past weekend Jim put up a garage, it basically looks like a huge tent. Emily was a wonderful helper and we were amazed at how strong she is!

Just like daddy!
"Daddy let's not mess around with pulling the posts; let's carry them!"
Using the shovel just like daddy.
"Do you want the dirt right here dad?"
Jim checked to make sure it was level.

Her little feet

I had to take this picture of Mary's little feet sticking out from under the blanket when she was sleeping this week.  It also looks like she is sleeping with one eye open.  I think she is almost too big for this cosy bed, but she still loves it and takes the best naps in her little bed.

Bike Ride

Jim took Emily on a bike ride this week.  She absolutely loved it!  When she came home she told me about the farms they saw with horses, cows and calves too!  Emily said daddy went REALLY fast, the only downer was the water bottle got her shorts wet.

FYI - Notice the yellow weeds in the back of this photo, they are dying now, but they  have been

Emily's First Day of Preschool

Today is Emily's first day of Preschool.   She was so excited and ready to go!  I curled her hair and she had a yogurt and ham for breakfast, so she was ready!

Check out my backpack!  Look familiar?  It was handed down from Aunt Sarah!
When we got to Preschool Emily found her name and hung her backpack and sweatshirt on her hook.  Emily used the bathroom and then we did the question of the day.  The question was what is your favorite color?  We put Emily's name up next to blue.  Emily asked for a hug and kiss goodbye, she kissed me and Mary and we left.  NO CRYING!  I couldn't believe she didn't cry, she has been crying when I leave her at Sunday School or other places.  But we have been talking about Preschool for MONTHS, so I think she was ready.  I know she'll do great, but wow do I miss her, the house is almost too quiet!

Mary rolled over on September 12th

Mary rolled over for the first time on September 12th.  She hasn't been rolling over a lot since then but she sure is changing!  Yesterday she starting doing raspberries!  Mary is cooing and talking and making so many more noises it's so fun!  Plus now she is awake a lot more and wants more attention.  It's getting a little bit harder, but I wouldn't change it!

I'm flying - Mary's feet are off the ground, and sometimes her upper body is too!
Hi mom!
Just hanging out.

Today Mary is 4 months old!  Wow, has it gone quick!

Play date with the Cabbles

Last week we went over to the Cabble's house for a play date.  Julie had the great idea of taking Emily's bike.  At our house there is not much room for her to ride because we have a dirt driveway.

The kids switched riding vehicles and Megan is on Emily's bike in this picture.  Let's go!
Mary was a little angel in the stroller the whole time!
The kids got dressed up in costume, it was so cute.
Yeah, sandbox time.

Armitage BBQ

Sunday we had a BBQ with Jim's side of the family.  His mother Jane, step dad Alan, Alan's brother John & wife Lin came, Lin's mother Mary, my parents and my grandmother came over.  We had Lin's stuffed hamburgers, Jane's potato salad & homemade buns, my mom's fruit salad & Eclaire dessert, my butternut squash soup and some appetizers.  It was a yummy meal.  What a beautiful day to sit outside on the deck.

Emily's First Day of Sunday School

Sunday was Emily's first day of Sunday School.  Emily was excited to wear her new dress from Grandma Jane, and she simply adorable!

At Sunday School they learned about Kind David and made crowns.  They also talked about heaven and what we will find in heaven.  There were a sheet of things and Emily circled what she thinks she will see in heaven (i.e. sleep, friends, ice cream).
Mary wore this cute hand me down outfit from Sarah, it has a matching hat too.

Timbertown Picnic for MOPS

Last Friday we had a picnic/play date at Timbertown for MOPS.  It was a lot of fun to see some friends I hadn't seen a long time and have them meet Mary.

Mary spent most of the time in her stroller and she was a little angel.
Emily liked the swings ...

and her she is with Sophia & Natalia (twin friends)

It was a lot of fun.

Emily's picture on AnnArbor.com

Emily and her friend Megan Cabble made in the slide show on AnnArbor.com.  See the picture below.  It was at the Saline Fair!

The Saline Fair

Kids day at the Saline Fair today was awesome!  There was so much to do and tons of friends and their kids there.

Emily on the little bike!

Once we got there this is all Emily wanted to do, and I couldn't believe she wasn't scared!  She went completely upside down and everything!

Tight rope walking ...
Ta da!
What colors can we make?
Baby chicks
Feed grain is fun to play with
Her highlight was holding the baby bunny
Mary had a good time too!

Time for the elephant ride
The last ride of the day was the bumble bee  (Thank God Julie was there to take Emily on all of the rides)

That bath made me tired

Mary played with her toy for a little while after her bath and then fell asleep.  Jim dressed her in this cozy "baby boy" blue outfit.  It's a hand me down from Linda and her boys.

Bath time

I snapped a few pictures of Jim giving Mary her bath tonight.  Check out her rolls.  Mary is really starting to fill out.  She is such a sweet baby!

I'm not so sure I want a bath
It's ok for now
I don't want a bath (for some reasons Mary doesn't always enjoy bath time, she only cried for a second)
Look at that pouty lip
This is better
Looks like she has one little curl left, she has lost most of her newborn curly hair!  (darn)
Oh, hi mom!
We better wash your back
Ok, dad I like the bath now.  (How quickly their moods change)
