Emily's Masterpieces! February 2, 2011

Emily just loves to paint! She paints with brushes, with her fingers, hands and even her feet and toes! Check out her work!

Ice Skating with Daddy

Jim took Emily ice skating for the first time on February 2nd. I stayed at home to work on school work which tends to be trend most Saturdays. Jim will often run errands and take Emily with him so I can get some papers graded and work on my lecture.

Emily said she was better at ice skating. The only time she fell down was when daddy fell down and then she fell too. They were holding hands. Honestly I think Jim was holding Emily up as well, but she didn't tell me that.

Emily reading to Mary 1-28-11

Emily likes to read to Mary, it's actually Emily making up the words or reciting memorized books. It's so cute!
The book tends to get farther away when Mary starts flipping the pages. :)

After Mary's Bath 1-28-11

Mary loves bath time! Here she after her bath.
Watch out I am getting ready to crawl!

Grandma Weidmayer's 90th Birthday Party January 2011

In January we celebrated Grandma Weidmayer's 90th Birthday! She is amazing and still lives alone in Manchester. Although she doesn't drive she still goes to town every week on the bus and likes to quilt and play euchre.

Here is a picture of our family with grandma
Trying to eat lunch with two little girls is a challenge!
We sang a song for grandma

Manchester Bakery January 2011

We always enjoy going to the Manchester Bakery when Sarah is in town. Our cousin Melanie Weidmayer owns the bakery. It's a cozy family place.

Family Bowling with Salem church January 2011

A fun time was had by all during the Salem bowling night in January.

Here is the pro Jim bowling.
Emily used this ramp to give her ball some momentum!
Yes!
Caleb bowling.

Good Job Emily - next Josh's turn on the right, he's lining up the ramp with dad's help.
Here I am getting ready to bowl. This turned into my lucky ball!
Mary spent most of the night hanging out in the stroller. She is SO good!
Here are the final scores for the first game - Emily, Beth and Jim. Notice how the lucky blue ball beat out the pro Jim!

Leslie Science Center Field Trip January 2011

In January Emily's preschool went on a field trip to Leslie Science Center in Ann Arbor. We learned about different animals and visited their "critter house."

Here is Emily petting a turtle.
The nature walk included seeing a fox's den and lots of different animal prints in the snow, which Emily told Mary and I about on the way home.
Mary and I stayed warm inside the center during the nature walk.
Emily was so pooped on the way home she actually fell asleep! That never happens!

Emily has croup!

This past year has been tough, every time Emily gets a bug she usually has croup along with it! It's this "barking" cough that sounds like a seal or dog and difficulty breathing. It can be scary and we typically go outside for fresh cool air to help open her airways or a steamy bathroom works too. Of course the cough is the worst in the middle of the night.

Here is Emily lounging eating a snack and watching TV when she was sick. The only plus to being sick is I let Emily watch unlimited TV.
Mary did not catch this bug from Emily and was in good spirits!

Peas are yummy! January 2011

Mary likes eating the peas from our garden . It's so nice that I made a ton of baby food last fall and froze it for the winter months. I made peas, green beans, beets, squash (3 kinds), applesauce, and pumpkin. Mary also loves the pumpkin too!

Fun with Luke & Jada!

Jada and Luke came over to play exchange presents shortly after Christmas too! Here they are enjoying Luke's clay that he got in his arts and crafts bucket.

Exchanging Christmas presents with The Cabble's

We got together a little after Christmas with our good friend's The Cabble's to exchange Christmas presents and to spend some quality time together. We often times see them at preschool or church, but it's not the same as being at someone's house.

Here is Mary opening up her present.

The kids enjoyed a short Christmas show about pluto and his Christmas tree.
The girls enjoyed their matching pj's.
