Emily's First Piano Lesson

I didn't realize until today how much Emily loves the piano.  We went over to a friend's house and Emily got to play her first real piano.  My friend Karla was impressed with Emily's playing and asked if we have a piano at home.  Not yet!  Emily was good at using only one finger per key and didn't bang on it like I thought she would.  Here Emily is playing a duet with Sofia.

I had to add one more picture of the girls playing with the dolls and their strollers/shopping cart.  They are very into their dolls right now.

Play Group at Church

We went to play group at our church today.  There was open play time with toys and play dough, a snack, storytime, a craft and then songs at the end.  Emily loves ring around the rosie, so that was her request during the circle/song time.  When we were all done with the songs she wanted to do ring around the rosie again and grabbed Blake her friend so he could join her.  When we got in the car I was singing the "Were so glad, were so glad you are here Emily, Jesus loves us all" song, which I then had to sing about 100 times until we were home.  At play group we sang it inserting each child's name into the song.  Here is a picture of the kids during the snack/storytime.

Friends from High School

Emily and I ran to the mall today to meet up with some of my friends from HS.  It was hard to actually talk to anyone because I spent most of my time chasing Emily.  Here are a few pictures of my friends with their adorable kids.  This was Emily's first time at the play structure at Briarwood Mall, and she loved it!  Usually I stay away from these places because of the germs, but you can't live in a glass bubble either.

Emily Making the Moves ...

I had to share a few pictures from today, Emily was making the moves on her friend Blake, hugging and kissing him.  Usually he enjoys hugging and kissing her too, but he was interested in all of Emily's toys which he hadn't scene in a while.  They were really cute playing together.

Fun Pictures from Today

Emily was excited to spend some time with her daddy tonight playing.  The second to last picture is Emily and Lucy watching for daddy to come home from work.

The last picture was simply a random silly picture, Emily decided to crawl over the dog right when I went to take a picture.

The Stage Emily is in ...

I just want to give you a snippet of how Emily is these days.  She goes from saying "cheese" for the camera (top picture) to running on the bed (bottom picture).  When I am not looking she does whatever it is she is not supposed to do, and sometimes when I am looking too!  One other example, Emily pulls the chairs out and climbs onto the chairs in our dinning room and onto the table, which is a high table.

It's never a dull moment, I gotta go see what she is into now!

Budding Love

Emily was so excited today when I told her we were going over to her friend Blake's house. We used to see our friends a couple of times a week, but with the holidays, some sicknesses and stuff, it's been a while.

Here they are playing together, and then this adorable picture of baby Megan.

Posters for Grandpa

Jim's dad hasn't been feeling well.  So today Emily and I made some posters for Grandpa.  I printed out these pictures along with a few others and they are glued on the signs "I Love You" and "Get Well Soon"  We are going to take them to Grandpa today.

BTW - you can only imagine how many pictures I took to get these couple of her holding the signs with the words facing the right direction and looking at the front of the sign versus the back.    I thought I would add a couple of funny pictures too.

Sweet Picture

This is a picture of Emily and Jim before we went to church yesterday.  I thought it was so cute.

Emily & Claire

Since Jim and I moved to Chelsea I have gotten to see some of my family a lot more, which sure is nice, especially with Emily.  We now live close to my cousin Diane and we just love her family (3 children - Kyle, Kevin & Claire).  Yesterday Claire came and spent the day with us.  She is a little angel and was so helpful with Emily.  Claire did whatever I said, even when it came to eating her vegetables at lunch.  I think it's rare these days to find nice children who don't give you grief on stuff they don't like.  Plus she said the cutest things, and it nice having a companion that can have a conversation.  Emily is still working on that.  :)

Here are a few pictures of Claire and Emily playing.

Emily being Silly

I had to share a couple of pictures of Emily playing last night.  She does this silly head stand thing, and likes to walk around in my shoes.  The other pictures are of Jim and Emily doing ring around the rosie and Emily falling down.  She has so much fun with her daddy, unfortunately she was so wound up she didn't go to bed until late.  Opps.

Chelsea Treehouse

At the dinner table last night Jim says lets go do something.  We have been home so much lately we all have cabin fever.  I picked up the phone and called our friends Aaron & Nichole and within fifteen minutes we were out the door to the Treehouse.   Emily loved it, she even went down the big slide by herself (usually holding Jim's hand).  One time she hit her head going down the slide, cried for 10 seconds and wanted to go again.  She wasn't scared of anything.  She went down the tunnel slides and just loved it all.  Boy was she tired and hungry when we got home.

Here is a picture her and Christian (he is 9 weeks younger than Emily and just adorable, he has an older brother Jackson who is turning 3 in March) and then a picture of her and Jim going down the big slide.

Great Grandma's B-day

My grandmother turns 88 this week.  I hope I look and feel as good as she does at that age!

Yesterday Emily and I stopped by her house to give grandma her Birthday present a little early.  Here is a picture of Emily playing with grandma's toys, she especially liked this reindeer that played music and lit up.

Sorry there haven't been as many blog updates, we are still trying to get back to our routine.  Next week I start teaching a night class, and so I have been spending a lot of my free time prepping for that class.
