Rain Rain Go Away

I was about to open the blinds yesterday and I asked Emily if it was going to be sunny or rainy out?  She of course said sunny!  Then I pulled the shades up and it was down pouring rain!  So Emily was singing "Rain Rain Go Away, Come Again Another Day!"  After I got out the camera she got a little shy ...

Park & Picnic

What a beautiful day we had today!  This morning Emily and I went to a park and Manchester and met up with my friend from High School Colleen and her son Owen.  We hadn't seen them in several months, maybe going on 6 months so I wasn't sure if they would play together or not?  I couldn't believe how adorable they were playing together, and they did well sharing too.
We packed our lunch and ate at the park too, it was such a nice day.  It wasn't too hot or cold, about 65 degrees, and the sun felt perfect.  The kids played so nice Colleen and I even had time to sit on a park bench in the sun and chat.  What a treat!  Owen and Emily are about a month apart in age, and Colleen's due date for their second is about a week after my due date!  So our kids are very close in age.

Of course slides are fun too
Owen and Emily just playing and having fun - so cute!

New Wagon

Emily has been so excited since Sunday to get out her new wagon and put it together.  Yesterday while Jim was gone to work we pulled it out of the box, but we decided to wait for him to get home to put it together.  Emily was so funny, she was trying to put it together and got out her hammer from her tool bench.

Here are a few pictures from our walk to our next door neighbors.  They have a bunny chocolate chip, which Emily loves to pet.  Last night Emily said it was softer than anything she has touched, and I think she is right!

Thank you Grandma Jane for the wagon, we love it!  It was even good on our dirt driveway and road.  We look forward to taking it to the zoo, parades, park and more!

Homemade Kites at Playgroup

On Tuesday we celebrated Emily's Birthday again; well sorta. We took cupcakes to play group as the treat, and I also includes some raw veggies, but I think one one of the kids ate their veggies over the cupcake.

The craft was a really neat one that day, the kids made kites out of a plastic bag, pipe cleaners, duck tape and then decorated them with stickers. Then they had a blast chasing each other around the room with their kites playing tag. Emily is so cute when she plays tag, she runs with her finger out getting ready to tag someone with her one little finger.

At the end we do circle time and sing songs.

Xtreme Bounce B-day Party

We went to this great Birthday party for our friends Mallory (2) and Samantha (5) on Monday night.  They rented out Xtreme Bounce in Ann Arbor and had pizza and cake & ice cream.

Here is a picture of the kids as we were leaving to go home  - Blake, Emily, Samantha, Claire, Mallory and Megan, Kevin is in the back behind Emily.
Emily loved to climb, and of course her being my first I had no idea she would be able to climb these huge bouncy things by herself!  She said the climbing was the best part (better than jumping or the slides).
When Emily got to the top she would turn around and hold out her hand helping pull Blake up.  I am not so sure he needed the help, but it sure was adorable!
Here is  Blake, Emily, Julie & Megan getting ready to go down the slide.
Claire & Emily climbing up different wall.
Here are the Birthday girls with their cake.
Here is Megan, Blake and Emily, they were jumping and all fell down.

New Bike Helmet

Emily's new bike helmet and knee pads fit!  Isn't she so cute wearing them!

Emily's 3rd Birthday Party!

With the baby coming on May 21st we decided to have Emily's Birthday party a little early this year.  We had it yesterday May 9th, which was also Mother's Day and Grandma Jane's Birthday!

The party was a little bit smaller this year because it was Mother's Day some people were with their mom celebrating, and a few families were sick including my twin sister Linda's family.  But I am sure we will be celebrating Emily's Birthday a lot more the next two weeks seeing her Birthday isn't until the 20th.

Here is Emily hamming it up before the party, boy was she excited.

Here is Emily blowing out her candles, 2 out of 3 isn't too bad right?  Grandma Jane had a special cupcake and we sang to her too!  You can see Jada, Luke and Dylan intently watching to see if Emily could blow out all 3 candles.
Emily was opening her presents here, and she had to put on her new princess pj's!
Yeah, a blue present, which contained chocolate & clothes, just what I asked for!
Playing a little dress up before we opened the presents, Emily sure is a little princess.
I'm going to pull the first string on the pinata!
Wow, Great Grandma, this music playing Winnie the Pooh card is a hoot!
Even opening the cards were a lot of fun!
Being silly putting on Grandma's shoes as people were leaving.

It really was a great celebration.  Emily requested the Diego theme, and we colored Diego lunch bags, animal rescued lizards and tree frogs (scavenger hunt) and of course had a Diego pinata with Emily's favorite tootsie rolls!  The pictures don't show the decorations, but when Emily got up the house was decorated with jungle vines and balloons.
