Easter Service

Sunday morning we were up bright and early.  I played the hand bells at both services so I was at church by 8:30am.  Emily slept in a little after all the activities on Saturday and didn't come until the late church service with Jim.

Here is a picture of Emily and I in front of the church on Sunday (reminder I'm due in May).  I think Jim was talking to some friends in the back of church, so unfortunately he wasn't in the picture.

Emily and Claire posing some more.  Aren't they cute!

Grandma Jane bought Emily this adorable dress and hat for church.  Emily was so cute, I was surprised she was the only kid with an Easter Bonnet it on!  Emily has had an Easter Bonnet every year, and I always love the hats at Easter, I don't plan on stopping the tradition anytime soon.

Jada's Dora B-day Party

Saturday evening we had Jada's Dora Birthday Party.  Jada is our God daughter, and she turned 2!

Kelly planned an incredible Dora party, Emily had such a blast I might steal some ideas for Emily's party in May!

Here Kelly is telling the kids about the Dora Hunt, and handing out maps, Emily was to look for the orange eggs!
I found an orange egg!

This is where we need to go next ...
Daddy, I am making a Dora bracelet!
Emily worked on that bracelet forever, she dropped it 4 or 5 times and kept redoing it.  She completely missed the next activity because she had to finish her Dora bracelet!  Another idea for a Birthday present - jewelry making stuff, she loved putting the beads on the string.
Time for presents!
Jada blowing out her candle.  I loved the Dora cupcakes too, aren't they so cute!

Coloring Easter Eggs

Seeing Emily didn't nap Saturday afternoon we colored Easter Eggs instead!

Here is Emily patiently waiting for the eggs to darken up in the food coloring.

Our finished product, 12 beautiful eggs!

Thanks to Grandma Jane for the wonderful Egg Kit from Williams & Sonoma!  It had a lot of great things in the kit, and we still have some left, so hopefully we can use it again next year!

Easter Egg Hunt at Peace

Saturday morning we kicked off Easter with a fun event at our church.  Not only did they do an Easter Egg hunt, but they also did a wonderful puppet show about the real reason behind Easter -  Christ has Risen!!!

Grandma came, it was a surprise visit!  "Grandma look at my eggs!"

Emily had a ball, after the egg hunt we did lunch with our friends at church.  They had hot dogs, chips, veggies and all of the fun kids food.  You would think Emily would take a good nap after the event, but no such luck.

Palm Sunday with Giffords

Last Sunday we kicked off Holy week by going to Linda's church in Washington and watching the boys sing in their Palm Sunday program.

After church we enjoyed a yummy lunch and colored Easter Eggs with the boys.  We had a great time and the visit was way too short.  Both with the 1.5 hour drive each way, it really cuts into the day.  On the way home I asked Emily what her favorite part of the day was, and she said "Watching the Boys Sing in Church!"  I thought for sure she would say coloring Easter Eggs or playing, but I was pleasantly surprised!

Here is Emily in her new head band from the Giffords.
Which sticker should I put on my egg?

Bonfire at the Neighbors

On the way home from church last night Jim calls and says the neighbors are having a bonfire, do you want to go for a little while?  We'll lucky Emily had taken a good nap last night so we quickly changed out of our church cloths and headed to the neighbors.

We enjoyed a nice bonfire, some smores and great conversation with the Sullivans.  To our surprise the neighbor boy Phil's girlfriend and family go to our church.  They were there, so we got to chat with them as well.

Here is a picture of Emily sitting with her daddy, so cute!
Emily sitting in the big chair enjoying the fire.
I had to take a picture of Emily perched on this big rock too!

Plus Emily got a little purple purse and a few treats from the neighbors - princess domino's & McDonald's certificates.

Trip to Midland

Wednesday we took a drive to Midland.  With some of the changes we are making in the house and the baby coming we need some new furniture.

Before we had Emily we had gotten a couple of things from Amish Reflections in Midland.  After some searching for the last few months we are back to Amish Reflections, we just couldn't find anyplace that has the quality and price that they do.

While in Midland we got to see Jane and Alan.  Emily enjoyed a trip to The Plaid Giraffe and picked out a hat for Easter and some PJ's.  They are really adorable!  Of course Grandma likes to spoil her little girl, she also gave us a cool Easter Egg kit which we are going to do today and  some jelly beans for the road home.  Thanks Grandma!

Here is a picture of Emily and her Grandma Jane.
Hmm, what should we have for dinner?
