Baby Farm Animals at the Library

Wow, do real baby animals draw a crowd!  We went to an animal story time at the Dexter Library Friday afternoon, and they had real baby farm animals for the kids to pet and feed!

First they told stories and sang songs, Emily and Blake had a grand time at the event.

Here they are singing songs ...

Blake and Emily stood in the back to see for story time.
Emily was not shy and squeezed right in to pet the animals!
She was the first to help feed the lamb it's bottle and believe me, that is what she has been talking about the last couple of days!
Mom, I pet the bunny!

New Bunny Glasses from Grandma Weidmayer

My mom stopped by one day this week and surprised Emily with these bunny glasses.  Emily LOVES sunglasses and has to wear them everywhere we go even when it's dark out!  Boy did we get a lot of comments this week wearing these glasses around town.  They are pretty cute on her!

Music Together - Scarfs

Emily and I just love our music classes, in fact it's my favorite thing we do on a weekly basis.  It's going to be tough deciding if we can do the next session and make it work with baby #2 coming in the middle of the session.

I love it when we play with these colorful scarfs to the music.  Emily was funny waving it in front of Blake and over his head.  Blake loved it, they are such a cute pair.

Emily insisted on wearing a dress on Wednesday after we had talked about going to church that night.  So all day she wore her snowman dress, she loves dresses and I usually save them for church.  I decided to pick my battles on Wednesday and she wore a dress to Music Together!

Cake Shop in Ann Arbor

After the Hands On Museum we decided spur of the moment to stop by this cake shop and get daddy a cupcake for his birthday - a little early.  It was the cutest shop, and we bought 3 cupcakes for dinner.  Can you tell Emily was a little worn out after the Hands On museum?  Daddy was surprised, of course when Emily spilled the beans on the phone.  She was so excited about those cupcakes, she could hardly wait until dinner.  Then I only gave her half of one, but she got to enjoy it for a couple of days.  Of course she picked out a chocolate cupcake for both her and daddy!  Emily loves chocolate!

Ann Arbor Hands On Museum

On Tuesday we decided to go to the Hands On Museum with some friends.  I had not been there since I was little, so I barely remembered it.

The biggest hit was the Bob the Builder display, Emily loves tractors and stuff so she was right at home.

Here is Emily and Blake on a tractor

Some sort of ball machine?
Yeah, a slide, Emily and Megan getting ready to go down the slide.
Emily catching Megan on the slide (see video at the bottom).
Fishing anyone?
What a great builder, just like her daddy!
Making music on the huge piano (see video for more)
This is pretty cool
A harp with no strings?
Tornado anyone?

Every time Emily sees these pictures and video she says she wants to go again.  She had a great time, and was very well behaved.  The only thing missing is they don't have food there, good thing we brought enough snacks for lunch!

Emily Smells a Skunk

Last night Jim and Emily were driving home from a friends house and they smelt a skunk.  It's so cute how she says skunk so I had to video tape it.  This was her first thing this morning in her pj's.

Hard Wood Floor is Done!

As most of you know, Jim has been working on a home project.  He extended our loft area and now we have a lot more living space upstairs.  Jim got a bulk of the work done around Thanksgiving time, but then most of the project was put on hold because of his dad's stuff.  The last couple of weekends Jim did the hardwood floor, which looks amazing.  Now I don't even want to walk on it, but we did order a large area rug to cover most of it.  With the toys and stuff I worry about it getting scratched up.

Emily took these pictures of Jim working yesterday, and surprisingly she did a really good job.  I was amazed at all of the different angles she captured, and this is maybe only half or a third of the pictures.

Looks like Jim posed for the first couple of pictures ...

This was hard work, Jim got blisters and is very sore from the last couple of days.  Good thing he had his volleyball knee pads!  :)
Jim said it was like putting together a puzzle.
Almost done!
As Emily would say, "It looks perfect!"
It adds about 200 square feet.  :)
